Do you want to be on the cutting edge of a public sector career in professional auditing? The Utah Department of Health and Human Services is offering an exceptional opportunity to work as an entry level Internal Auditor. In this role you will assist department leadership to continuously improve operations by providing independent and objective analysis, appraisals and recommendations concerning Governance, Risk and Control of operations and compliance with applicable laws, regulations and policies. The Auditor II requires limited local travel. A MS Excel skill test may be given as part of the interview process. Telework is optional after the first 90 days in office.

Principal Duties
As an Auditor II you will:
Conduct audits in accordance with professional standards.
Identify and communicate audit issues, technical matters and improvement opportunities.
Develop and maintain an excellent working relationship with areas being audited.
Maintain and comply with the highest degree of professional standards confidentiality and personal conduct.
This job may be filled at either of the levels listed below. (Rates as listed or in accordance with DHRM Rules for current state employees.)

Auditor II, $19.76 to $34.94 per hour
Auditor I, $18.70 to $31.33 per hour (As an Internal Auditor I, you will perform the duties described above under close supervision.)

The Ideal Candidate
Has a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or other related field.
Has a desire to obtain applicable certification (e.g. CIA).
Has at least one year of relevant auditing or financial analytical work experience.
Has the ability to work independently while cooperating in a team environment.
Has the ability to communicate information and ideas clearly and concisely, both verbal and written.
Has excellent interpersonal, analytical, and research skills.

Supplemental Information
Working Conditions
Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
Standard schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, This position may be eligible for telework.
Physical Requirements
Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
