Job Description : Description of Job Responsibilities: We are actively looking for an Inventory Accountant who will manage inventory costing, financial controls and perform analytical activities. In addition they will be creating and maintaining reporting schedules for inventory and products. This position will partner with the production area, operations and others involved with the supply chain to ensure inventory is properly accounted for and safeguarded. The inventory accountant will work closely with the finance and supply chain team members.Qualifications and Experience: · Ensure appropriate inventory valuation and costing of all products in accordance with GAAP and company policies.· Assist in Month-end closing, prepares journal entries, inventory & BS account reconciliations· Analyze inventory valuation and cost variances· Act as liaison with internal operating department such as Production, Purchasing, AP, AR, and Warehouse· Maintain and update standard material, labor, and overhead costs· Review bill of material structure for quantity and unit of measure accuracy· Work with operations and fulfillment to plan and conduct physical inventories· Prepare journal entries and reconcile inventories to balance sheet· Reconciling inventory accounts to the general ledger and operations· Prepare, analyze and report monthly, quarterly gross margin, other cost of sales, inventory trends and turnover ratios· Special projects related to inventory as requiredEducation/Requirement/Experience: · Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required· 3+ years’ experience in Inventory & Cost Accounting experience· Ability to apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles in relation to Inventory & Cost Accounting Standards· Strong ability to assess problems, identify causes, generate possible solutions, make recommendations and/or resolve the problem· Ability to analyze transactional level detail in an ERP system and articulate the key findings to management· Strong interpersonal, communication and interpersonal skills· Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel/MS Office· Detail oriented and comfortable working with large data sets· Excellent written and verbal communication skills· Collaborative, team-oriented mindset· Ability to work independently under minimal supervision· Experience with Sage 100Job Types: Full-time, ContractPay: $48,353.00 – $80,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offVision insurancePhysical Setting:OfficeSchedule:Monday to FridayExperience:GAAP: 3 years (Preferred)License/Certification:CPA (Preferred)Work Location: One location
