Team and Position Summary:
Asda Ecommerce – Fulfillment and Care Tech: This is the team that builds reusable products by using latest open source technologies that aid in the area of Order Management, Payments, Delivery Slots, Customer Communications along with capabilities for fulfilling customer orders by leveraging in house and third-party last mile delivery. Our team also provides Item Substitutions and is the face of Asda towards the customer. By adhering to the Walmart’s philosophy of Every Day Low Cost in addition to ushering in affordability, we serve Asda customers the omnichannel way, across all online channels – iOS, Android and Website.
Our team entirely owns the Fulfil and Care capabilities within Asda’s end-to-end eCommerce capability. We are responsible for ideation, design, development and operations of large-scale, distributed systems while interacting with multiple teams across the company to provide scalable robust technical solutions.
Position Responsibilities:
Through this role you have an opportunity to develop intuitive software that meets and exceeds the needs of the customer and the company
You will show your skills in analysing and testing programs/products before formal launch to ensure flawless performance
Troubleshooting coding problems quickly and efficiently will offer you a chance to grow your skills in a high-pace, high-impact environment.
You also get to collaborate with team members to develop best practices and client requirements for the software.
In this role it would be important for you to professionally maintain all code and create updates regularly to address the customer’s and company’s concerns
Position Requirements:
Minimum qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of hands on experience in Core Java development
Experience with Agile software development methodology
Demonstrate ability to stay on top of the latest trends and technologies and identify opportunities for their use
Experience working on databases: SQL, MSSQL, Cassandra, MongoDB, CosmosDB etc.
Manipulate data from various sources / formats such as: flat files, relational databases, non-relational databases, XML, JSON, etc.
Ability to work in both Unix and Windows Environments
Expertise in Unix and Linux Shell Scripting
Experience using Spring Framework is a plus
Additional Qualifications:
Working knowledge of distributed event-streaming platform like Kafka
Knowledge of Azure
Exposure to CI/CD concepts
