Job Description : This is a unique opportunity to join a team of highly motivated property management and operations professionals. Investors’ Property Services is a 42-year-old, privately held full service residential and commercial real estate company. An employee focused company that puts people before profits!A full-time opportunity with a rich benefit offering, the position will be based in Mission Viejo, California, working alongside our accounting and corporate support teams Monday through Friday. The Staff Accountant reports to the Accounting Manager at our corporate office. This position requires at least one year of accounting experience.Job Summary: Supports and executes the Company’s accounting policies and procedures for multiple property management portfolios nationwide.Job Responsibilities: Monitor daily general ledger cash balances and depositsPerforms Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functionsPrepare ACH and wire transfersReconcile security deposit reportsReconcile multiple bank statements monthly for each propertyGenerate adjusting journal entries with supporting backupPrepare client financial statement packagesProcess security deposit refund requests from property managersEffectively communicate in writing or verbally with corporate office and onsite property personnelSupport integration of new properties as neededOther office duties as assigned and needed to support the teamExperience and Education: Four-year degree at accredited institution, preferably in Accounting or commensurate experienceRequires at least one year of accounting experienceOrganizational Responsibilities: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with Company, property, and departmental policies, procedures, and standards and immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, employee/visitor/resident injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to appropriate individual(s).Identifies opportunities areas for improving the Company’s overall operation and success by offering suggestions, leading improvement initiatives, and working with the appropriate team members to implement suggestions.Working Conditions: Incumbents work in an office environment.
