Job Description : A Japanese manufacturer & distributor is seeking a Japanese bilingual junior accountant in NJ.
The junior accounting will be responsible for performing general accounting and other related duties in the accounting department.
The ideal candidate must have more than 2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, and proficient Japanese language skills in reading, speaking, and writing.
Responsibilities:
Maintains the general ledger.
Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
Reconciles customer accounts and manages accounts receivable collections.
Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
Prepares periodic balance sheets, profit and loss statements and consolidated package.
Maintain fixed assets and depreciation schedule.
Assist in preparing income tax and sales tax returns
Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
Prepares periodic bookings, sales and related reports
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Must be fluent in Japanese and English
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related discipline, preferably working towards an accounting designation
Ability to work independently with a keen eye for detail
Proficient in Excel
Excellent analytical and organizational skills
