Job Description : Position Summary:
In this unique role, you will work directly with the organization’s Controller as a Junior Accountant, working within the Medical Billing department, ensuring proper billing protocols are followed. You’ll work alongside our Insurance Billing Specialists, whose primary responsibilities include billing insurance claims for a multitude of services, including both Commercial Insurance and Medicaid. As a Junior Accountant, we anticipate that you’ll put to use an analytical mind and strong organization skills; we will expect you to be detail-oriented, have strong problem-solving skills, work comfortably under pressure, and deliver on tight deadlines.

Candidates must be:
Must be an “advanced-level user” with Excel, with special attention paid to VLOOKUP and Pivot tables.
Must have proficient technical software skills. Must be comfortable toggling between multiple systems throughout the day.
Must be comfortable “living in the numbers”.
Each payer may have different rates and service codes for the same services.
Analyze financial information and prepare balance sheets.
Coordinate with management and staff to prepare budgets.
Ensure compliance with organizational guidelines and procedures, and federal and state regulations.
Resolve account payable and receivable issues or queries.
Accurately perform daily reconciliations of cash, check and credit card transactions, and tally and file invoices.
Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements.
Assist in financial and tax audits, and general ledger preparation.
Prepare income tax returns and corporate reporting requirements.
Develop monthly financial statements that include cash flow, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets.
Complete end-of-month close procedures.

Position Requirements:
Bachelors degree in accounting or related field
1 year of accounting work experience preferred
Critical thinker with high proficiency in math.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Competency in Microsoft Office and Accounting software packages.
All new hires will need to submit proof of vaccination upon hire or must submit negative weekly COVID tests
