Job Description for Junior Accountant

The Junior Accountant is responsible for maintaining / updating financial reports, supporting senior staff in journal entries, data entry to AP, account analysis, and account reconciliations as assigned.
Essential Duties for Junior Accountant

Organize and update financial records
Prepare bank reconciliations
Prepare journal entries for input into accounting system
Support departmental budget audits
Support accounts payable
Support month-end, year-end close process
Perform other general accounting duties as needed
Performs ad hoc analysis and projects as requested
Creates and supports more robust reporting and streamlined processes to achieve $100 million goal
Requirements for Junior Accountant

Experience using statistical and financial software (e.g., CYMA)
This position is remote however, the employee must live: AR, FL, GA, KS, MS, OK, TX, or VA
3+ years of progressive accounting experience
Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all level of an organization.
Reporting and data analytic skills
Problem solving skills
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with other financial systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint)
Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting or Finance; MBA preferred.
