Job Description : Lead Accountant
The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all accounting operations within the accounting department are running smoothly. This person will oversee the work of the accounting staff, review statements to ensure accuracy, and reconcile general ledger accounts.
This position is Full Time Salaried/Exempt status, and will work in our Corporate Office which is located at the South Naperville/Aurora border. Office hours are 8 am- 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversees Accounting Operations, which include accounts payable, and payroll.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Keep track of credits owed to the company and ensure all credits are properly applied to vendor payments.
Verify and pay employee expense reports
Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
Provide Accounting Director with monthly reports on store performance from several data sources.
Review balance sheet reconciliations/reviews and reconcile any issues.
Function in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable laws.
Coordinate month end reporting procedures.
Identifies and recommends updates to accounting processes and procedures.
Perform general administrative tasks.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
Required Job Skills and Education:
Bachelors’ degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.
Three years or more of related experience required.
Strong knowledge of MS Office and QuickBooks.
Excellent management and supervisory skills.
Excellent communication and administrative skills.
Exceptional organization and time management skills.
Proven ability to successfully interact with team members and management at various levels.
Ability to meet all assigned deadlines
