Job Title – Lead – Software Engineering
The Purpose of This Role
As a Lead Software Engineer you will focus on mainframe development using Cobol, working directly with both technical and business stakeholders to translate a vision and designs into sustainable business solutions. You will be responsible for the development of complex conversion tasks, ensuring your deliver with quality, consistency to our standards, performance. This function will support the business to ensure DC projects are implemented with the highest quality product.
The Value You Deliver
This Lead Software Engineer will play a Mainframe Developer. The ideal candidate will play the role of a squad member/developer in Feedback Application in the Defined Contribution Space. While adhering to established processes and procedures, the Developer will work closely with all partners supporting some of the existing applications and bring in more efficiency while working on each of the application.
Responsibilities of the role includes:
Ability to understand and analyze the functional requirements.
Work on data conversion projects
Auditing of output and reports
Close interaction with the project team members
Peer review and testing.
The Skills that are Key to this role
Skills
5+ years of work experience in Cobol, DB2, JCL, VSAM
Displays a full understanding of the software development process including analysis, design, coding, system and user testing, problem resolution and planning.
Ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups, both in person and virtually, in a constructive and collaborative manner
Ability to quickly learn, adapt and strive to meet the needs of a fast paced, changing environment.
Ability to navigate organizationally to accomplish tasks.
Ability to work on multiple efforts simultaneously.
Required Technical skills
Experience in Mainframe development using COBOL
Knowledge of DB2, JCL, VSAM
Knowledge of SAS, LINUX and DB2 application
Exposure to Distributed Technology like JAVA, Angular will be an added advantage.
Knowledge of SQL, File-aid, SPUFI and Platinum is preferred.
Domain knowledge of Retirement Services is a plus.
Experience in Agile development methodology and Jira/Git Stash tool
