Job Description : Katie Weigel with Robert Half Finance and Accounting is recruiting to fill a Lead Technical Accountant role for a growing software company in Reno. As a strong individual contributor, the person in this role will be responsible for the accounting for one highly regulated, very complex entity. To include: Support of a stand alone audit, full financial statement preparation (including notes), engaging with legal and compliance on matters such as new pronouncements, integration of new offerings in their space (crypto-currency for example), etc. They will also be responsible for providing technical conclusions, support of the financial audit, etc. The position works with a variety of professionals internally and therefore very strong written and communication skills are critical, and the ability to take a position for accounting and be confident in the advocacy of that position. This particular role offers a generous base compensation to $115k, RSU’s valued at $70k (with vesting period) and a 15% bonus in addition to numerous other well above market medical and wellness benefits.

BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are strongly preferred
Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Top notch analytical, quantitative and social skills
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
Strong communication skills and able to receive criticism well
5+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
Deep understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance
Proficiency in technical accounting
Command of financial statement preparation
Solid understanding of Financial Audits
