What you should know about the Loan Accounting Associate?
In this position, you will maintain all reconciliations for the Bank. Perform vendor verifications. Assist with preparation of quarterly audit support binder. Performs functions related to the month-end close process (i.e., journal entries, reconciliations, etc.) in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
In this role, your primary responsibilities will include:
Review bankwide General Ledger (GL) reconciliations to ensure compliance with bank policies (aging/charge-off, preparer/reviewer sign-off, etc.)
Performs independent callbacks of vendor payment instruction changes and/or new setup (wire instructions, addresses, etc.)
Performs GL reconciliations for balance sheet accounts to ensure transactions & balances are recorded accurately & in accordance with GAAP/Company policy; resolve issues identified.
Assists with quarterly financial reporting, prepare loan-related schedules in the quarterly regulatory reports. Prepares footnotes/tables for related reports.
Assists with preparation of the quarterly audit support binder.
Takes minutes at various committees, including Loan Quality Review Committee and Economic Forecasting Committee.
Prepares journal entries to record business & financial transactions in accordance with GAAP and Company policy.

To be successful, your background should match these qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university and three to five years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 1 year of accounting experience required; prior banking industry experience, preferred.
Certification in Accounting, Finance or Economics, preferred
Strong understanding of basic accounting concepts; loan accounting preferred
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel (VLookups, Pivot tables)
Excellent written communication skills; committee minutes
