This is a full-time, direct hire position in Bedminster, NJ.
OVERALL PURPOSE:
As a member of the company’s accounting team, the Sr. Manager, Technical Accounting & Reporting will play a key role in developing, enhancing and/or maintaining the Company’s financial reporting processes, SOX compliance processes, equity administration and reporting, and technical accounting assessments. This role will participate in the financial statement close, be a point of contact with internal and external audit functions and lead technical accounting assessments and documentation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform and assist with the implementation of new accounting standards, including performing research, documenting position papers, and ensuring appropriate disclosure
Participate in coordination, preparation and filing of current (8-K), quarterly (10-Q), and annual reports (10-K, Proxy) with the SEC, identifying and implementing process and disclosure enhancements as needed
Maintain quarterly reporting timelines and monitor and communicate progress against milestones
Develop, communicate, and maintain processes over SOX compliance, including coordination between process owners and audit firms
Assist with the management and reporting of equity-based transactions and administration, and be a key participant in process initiatives
Perform and assist with technical accounting research and documentation for various business transactions; develop and document policies and procedures, as needed
Monitor emerging accounting and reporting regulations from the SEC, FASB, PCAOB, and other regulators and communicate potential areas of impact
Participate in the quarter-end close and financial statement review
Ad hoc projects, as required
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent
Minimum of eight (8) years of experience
Public accounting experience strongly preferred
CPA required
KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:
Excellent working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations and demonstrated ability to perform technical research.
Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written, including ability to write formal accounting position papers and disclosures.
Exceptional attention to detail, project management, and organization skills.
Ability to handle ambiguity and to be adaptable in a changing environment, including the ability to proactively identify issues, problem-solve, and communicate potential solutions.
Must have the ability to work at a fast pace and manage multiple priorities, with ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of Workiva (or similar), XBRL, and Shareworks (or similar) a plus
Pharmaceutical/biotech experience a plus
