We are seeking for a seasoned software engineering manager who can leverage their skill set to grow as part of Ingram InfoSec Automation Agile SCRUM team. Must be a quick learner and love challenging themselves and team to constantly raise the bar. As a Software Development Manager, you shall have a strong passion for work and the ability to turn complex product/tool requirements into simple/optimal technical solutions and be accountable for all technical deliverables.
This position works closely with InfoSec SMEs/Leads/Project Mangers to understand product/tool requirements, provides inputs for all technical delivery milestones including effort estimations and takes accountability for the technical product delivery. Position also has supervisory responsibility for Offshore SSWE/SWE part of automation team. Responsibility to identify the right skill requirement and own hiring/coaching/mentoring and building high performance teams
Key Responsibilities
Deep dive on large product features and be prepared to set the vision, organize and evolve components and subsystems that make up feature
Collaborate and communicate effectively with product, infrastructure, DevOps, architecture, and engineering to guide an initiative’s technical direction
Create innovative solutions for complex problems, leveraging advanced understanding of engineering principles and best practices
Work with Subject matter experts to remove obstacles, review design, and ensure final product meets the needs of stakeholders
Understand and optimize the work being done by the team for quality and timely deliverables in-line with stakeholder requirements
Work closely with other team leads to ensure consistent build execution
Ensure quality presentation of the team’s work with stakeholders
Building and Leading teams – Hire & Mentor team members in design, coding practices, and software development policies and guidelines.
Serve as a gating member of design and code reviews for team members
Work with the subject matter experts to ensure team designs align with the standards and patterns of the product/tool
Support cross-functional teams in deploying and maintaining the product/tool
Develop Business case for identified opportunities to automate a process and present the business case with leadership team
Learn new tools/ technologies self or through structured training as appropriate and put those skills in-use as required by InfoSec
Monitor and evaluate industry trends and third-party tools in InfoSec domain
Ensure knowledge creation around development standards and best practices
Be a resourceful part of the talented team responsible for building customized tools/products that acts as key enablers for our InfoSec team
Creatively look for improvement opportunities and contribute innovative ideas
Embrace a leadership role by improving effectiveness of agile teams and contributing to the architectural vision and roadmap
Skills & Experience 10+ years of relevant technical experience in software engineering/architecture/ mobile app development 4+ years agile/scrum methodologies,
2+ years of supervisory experience managing software development engineers and leading engineering projects 3+ years of iOS/Android platform experience Deep knowledge/experience with mobile application development, specifically with C# /.Net Core & Angular Front end development skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and IDE frameworks – bootstrap etc
Strong background in MS SQL Server, SQL Databases In-depth understanding of software SDLC processes in Agile and Waterfall methodologies Experience with RESTful APIs, API design with OpenApi/Swaggerand. MVC and Entity framework core Experience with unit testing libraries such as NUnit,MSTest, xUnit.NET, SonarQube
Experience with code versioning tools (AzureDevOps, Github, Bitbucket) Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in written forms Ability to understand and analyze complex problems and break them into small solvable pieces Ability to learn new tools, frameworks, technologies, and platforms Strong ability to collaborate and work across teams and disciplines with globally distributed teams
Job Qualifications and Educational Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or Relevant Science and Math disciplines with an IT emphasis is required
Work Experience: 10+ years; 2+ years of supervisory experience managing .Net full-stack/mobile app engineering teams Experience in 360º people management, growing & grooming teams and to ensure the happiness and productivity of the team’s software engineers
