Job Description : Position Summary:
Reconcile all federal, state and local payroll tax payments by prescribed deadlines issued by the taxing authorities. Weekly review of reports to ensure that team members are set up properly for their tax liability based on work locations. Weekly balancing of payroll processing. Review, fix and approve all State and Federal entities on a Quarterly and Annual basis including filing and distribution of the company’s W-2’s. Interact with all tax agencies to set up, update new accounts, as well as review tax discrepancies and problem resolution. Acts as an active participant in all processes that produce the weekly payroll distribution to 20,000+ team members.
Responsibilities:
Review the HR Payroll changes report weekly to determine if tax setup is correct and take necessary action to ensure accuracy.
Run Tax Reconciliation in UKG Pro after each payroll to ensure balancing.
Assist the Accounting department with reconciliation of tax liability accounts as an informational source and producing back-up reports.
Complete monthly, quarterly and yearly accruals for unreported tax liabilities as required and reconcile all payroll tax liability accounts in the general ledger per prescribed accounting standards.
Handles various year-end tasks including but not limited to: W2 Distribution, Census, Company Vehicle Auto-Comp and Third party sick pay administration, payroll tax adjustments and amendments.
Create and maintain cases in UKG to support changes in unemployment rates, amendments and tax related changes.
Support the Payroll Manager in all file creation/transfer processes and business intelligence report creation/analysis tasks as needed.
Maintains a strong working relationship with UKG Tax services representatives and submits and follows up with support orders as needed to resolve discrepancies.
Other duties as assigned to support the entire Payroll operation.
Working Relationships: All team members, Accounting, Tax, and Legal department.

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree
Preferred Education: Business/Accounting Bachelor’s degree
Minimum Experience: 5-6 years in a Payroll or Accounting role, Knowledge of basic Accounting principles
Preferred Experience: Multi-State payroll processing, UKG PRO (Ultipro)
Licenses/Certifications: CPP preferred
Soft Skills: Person must be comfortable dealing with all levels of the organizations and all business units and communicating verbally and/or through email. Customer Service oriented. Person must display a confident and professional manner and be able to articulate ideas within their work group. Must be a self-starter that can handle leadership/management responsibilities when asked. Person could be asked to be part of a group presentation or presenting as a sole contributor. Key work attributes would include; responsive, independent, creative, desire to learn in-depth, conscientious, detail-oriented, problem-solver, dependable, analytical, and comfortable and proficient with PC applications
