Job Description : About the Role

As our People Business Partner, you’ll be a seasoned and strategic People and Culture (PAC) thought partner to our Gojek Engineering team. Like a superhero, you’ll trade between business imperatives and the needs of our GoTroops, contributing hands-on efforts at the strategic level in partnership with relevant client groups, mostly at the executive rank and above. This is an individual contributor role. You’ll get ample opportunity to work on a variety of global projects, acting as a thought-leader by sharing your knowledge, experience, and people-related best practices among the broader PAC team across the Gojek ecosystem.
What You Will Do
Develop effective ongoing relationships with L6+ Engineering leaders, establishing yourself as a credible, trusted, respected, and valued thought partner
Act as a trusted liaison for the organizations you partner with (within the manager and employee base for each client group)
Provide PAC programmatic partnership on cyclical, COE-driven initiatives (e.g. engagement survey analysis, communication, and planning execution; mid-year and year-end pay and promo planning; talent management; performance reviews)
Provide leaders with advice and guidance around their organizational structure to optimize for business objectives in a highly matrixed and dynamic commercial environment
Partner with leaders on change initiatives, likely due to growth or the coming together of teams and functions
Understand your stakeholder groups’ key talent, strengths, and development needs, and actively participate in talent management discussions with relevant leaders
Be an active contributor in the Engineering People Business Partner team meetings, and challenge the status quo while offering up solutions based on your experience working in similar fast-paced environments
Work on Global projects as needed to gain insights for your own growth journey at Gojek

What You Will Need
At least 5 years of demonstrated People Business Partner experience (or equivalent) within online or technology-focused organizations
Experience delivering projects, like talent development, performance management across regions and teams you will collaborate with
Experience working within an entrepreneurial organizational/fast-growing culture is preferred
Strong ability to generate innovative HR solutions that are suitable for Gojek
Comfortable challenging the status quo; a self-starter attitude with the ability to embrace new opportunities and see things through to completion
Ability to present yourself and your views confidently and with conviction
Strong analytical thinking skills in order to analyze people-related data and trends within the Gojek ecosystem
Ability to work at a quick pace whilst maintaining appropriate attention to detail and ethical standard
About the Team

India’s Business Partner team has an objective of creating integrated, meaningful, and enjoyable people experiences for our GoTroops. Collaborating with the Engineering teams across multiple regions, we work to understand the various people-related issues and challenges these teams face, and devise effective and genuine resolutions for each matter. Our independent HRBPs for specific teams work alongside their respective regional teams to devise holistic people projects and experiences for that region.
The scope of our role necessitates that we think regionally and act locally. Each one of our business partners is expected to have a high level of personal accountability to get their job done, while ensuring the perspective and experiences of our GoTroops is kept at the forefront of everything they do.
One of the biggest obstacles our wider team has had to overcome is to standardize our way of work throughout our various regions. After many weeks of collaboration and trial and error, we figured out that the best way to tackle this issue was to establish a foundational blueprint for all of our policies and processes, but allow creative freedom for our members to cater their work based on what our GoTroops in their particular region necessitate. This way, these policies and processes would be more relevant to the local teams.
Off-hours, you’d probably find us celebrating birthdays and moments. Working from home has been a strange time for a lot of us, so our team has been taking time on our calls to trade advice on the best ways to keep sane with this new work setup. We are lovers of books, celebrations, and, of course, people, because ultimately, our team celebrates the humans who keep Gojek moving forward.
