Job Description : **SIGN ON BONUS!** **BENEFITS IMMEDIATELY!** Job Description- Plant AccountantRole Overview: The Plant Accountant is responsible for the site’s financial reporting, analysis, planning and forecasting.In addition, the Plant Accountant helps the Operations and Supply Chain teams by providing support on plant performance, inventory/replenishment requirements, capital and resource allocation. The PlantAccountant will support the business, with data driven analysis to aid decision making as well as focus on areas for process improvements. This position will interact with various teams, at both a local and head office, to improve accuracy, timeliness, and quality of reporting in a continuous improvement environment.The Plant Accountant will support the Leadership team in developing and improving the processes/methodologies, cost reduction opportunities, as well as developing and reporting operational targets. In this role, the Plant Accountant is expected to know the key drivers of the business, understand the cost pressures/dynamics behind each driver, forecast and provide financial insight.Reports to: Commercial & Operational Finance ManagerPrincipal Duties as Plant Accountant: 1. Provides cost accounting and services support for the site.2. Has responsibility for the monthly closing of plant inventory ledgers and for responding to questions on Operations spend, product cost, variances, and period expense.3. Provides support to Operations, including cost analysis, inventory control, product unit cost, variance analytics, and financial reporting for special projects.4. May initiate and lead special projects for process improvements.5. Performs Account reconciliations for inventory at off-site warehouses.6. Make sure all receipts, transfers, adjustments, and rework are entered for close along with any discrepancies regarding inventory.7. Any other duties as requested or assignedQualifications: 1. A minimum of 3-5 years manufacturing accounting experience, preferably in a food manufacturing environment2. College degree in Accounting, Finance or Business preferred or equivalent experience3. Up to date knowledge of current financial and accounting computer applications4. Must have strong Microsoft Excel skills5. Must have strong attention to detail6. Self-motivated and dependable7. Flexible with schedule8. Excellent verbal, analytical, organizational and written skills9.
