As the Controller of our Fine Paper Division, you will provide accounting and financial leadership for our Indianapolis, IN manufacturing facility. This role offers a great opportunity to work with operation leaders throughout the manufacturing facility, as well as senior management at the corporate level, and offer new ideas/solutions that will benefit Herff Jones. We’re looking for an individual that is eager to learn our industry and shares our passion of capturing memories, inspiring students and celebrating achievement.

Core Activities:

Oversee and manage the month end close process including reporting and presenting results, updating forecasts, and approval of reconciliations.
Ability to update standard costs for raw materials, work-in-process, and labor/overhead rates.
Analyze and initiate corrective measures related to budget deviations for revenues, cost spending, working capital and capital expenditures.
Preparation, review and presentation of yearly operations financial budget.
Preparation of capital project planning and ROI analyses, such as on time and within budget.
Recommend improvements in accounting procedures to strengthen controls, achieve higher quality, and improve operational efficiencies.
Identify and implement efficiency opportunities that drive increased performance of the plant through financial analysis.
ERP system interaction and involvement in ERP system implementation.
Adhere to GAAP & SOP policies including all other Company policies.
Perform ad hoc analysis and reporting as directed.

Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter with a strong desire to learn and an ability to deliver a high quality / accurate product.
Highly analytical and detail orientated with proven ability to develop new ideas and deliver solutions.
Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally, manage multiple competing priorities, and drive projects to completion.
Demonstrated financial and/or analytical experience including familiarity with forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
Work ethic based on core values (Service, Passion, Integrity, Respect, Innovation, & Transparency).

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (Master’s Degree preferred)
Preference to candidates with a CPA and Public Accounting background
8+ years of relevant Finance and/or accounting experience (Manufacturing environment preferred)
Oracle and/or SAP experience preferred, but not required
Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
Great communication skills, both oral and written
Strong technical knowledge of accounting
Strong analytical skills

Physical Requirements: (If applicable – manufacturing etc.)

Ability to work at a computer for prolonged periods of time
Ability to work remotely as needed
