Carnegie India, the sixth international center of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, is seeking a Program Coordinator and Research Assistant for the Technology and Society Program. This is a full-time position at Carnegie India’s offices in New Delhi that will preferably start in April 2022. The role will seek to support the India center’s scholars in the Technology and Society Program.
The program coordinator and research assistant will be responsible for researching specific issues related to India’s technology law and policy landscape in support of ongoing projects in the Technology and Society program at Carnegie India. Research may relate to areas such as cryptocurrencies, space policy, data governance, encryption, digital privacy, FinTech, cloud computing and semiconductor supply chains. This position will also provide administrative and programmatic support to the Technology and Society Program by coordinating events, sending out invitations, scheduling, corresponding with speakers, and handling logistics. The chosen candidate will also coordinate with other programs at Carnegie India and the communications team. The program coordinator and research assistant will play a key role in organizing Carnegie India’s annual flagship summit – the Global Technology Summit.
The selected candidate must one year of relevant work or internship experience and have a bachelor’s degree or higher in law, public policy, or a similar related field with keen interest in issues related to technology policy. The ideal candidate should have excellent verbal and written English, strong research and organization skills, the ability to work on flexible deadlines, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, a demonstrated ability to build relationships with stakeholders within and outside the program, and have the capacity to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Powerpoint is essential.
