THE JOB:
As the Regional Controller, you will be responsible for managing several aspects of the financial reporting, month-end close process, and other day to day activities for our three businesses in Salt Lake City, UT. This role will be part of the home office accounting team and will work directly with the CFO and the local management teams. The Regional Controller will be restless in their pursuit for solutions and understanding the “why” whenever there’s a problem. Their drive to take full ownership, get things done and do them thoroughly will be what propels them in their career and long-term growth with the Company.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Responsible for accounting processes including general ledger journal entries, reconciliations, month-end accounting close, and analysis.
Perform timely and insightful analysis in areas that affect financial performance, including margin analysis and operating expenses.
Establish routines for weekly operating and profitability reports, focusing on providing accurate, relevant, and prompt information for management.
Develop and monitor business performance metrics.
Ensure timely and accurate completion of local reviews, audits, and tax reporting. Ensure compliance with all laws, regulations, codes, accounting standards and policies of the Company relevant to the role.
Ensure that accounting policies are documented and followed along with proper internal controls.
Assist sales team in providing financial analysis of business development opportunities.
Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable for the businesses to ensure timely collection and payments.
Perform and analyze transactions and financial results. Solve problems relating to bank and GL account reconciliations, consult with the accounting and commercial departments to resolve issues.
Work with local office management and support teams to develop and refine processes, workflows, internal controls.
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to support sales and operations teams in completing projects as requested, evaluate current processes, identify best practices, and develop plans to implement improvements, and provide assistance to both the local operating teams and the CFO.
WHO YOU ARE:
You have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required. Preference will be given to candidates with an MBA.
Minimum Seven (7) years related experience of progressive accounting experience is required. Preference will be given to candidates with public accounting (CPA license preferred) or international business experience.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously and prioritizing projects to meet deadlines.
Ability to look for solutions and methodically evaluate a situation and provide recommendations that drive issues through to a successful conclusion.
Clear communicator and ability to relay data and details succinctly and influence decision making that has a positive effect on the bottom line. Ability to work effectively with a diverse team and produce time sensitive results.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite – must have advanced knowledge of Excel. Experience with ERP system such as Service Titan or similar software is preferred.
