From creation to commercialization, our customized approach to each customer’s requirements is what sets us apart from the rest.SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: The Regional Controller is responsible for financial management, including cost accounting, forecasting and budgeting for a group of manufacturing plants (three), while supporting the company wide SOX initiatives. The successful candidate will build upon each plant’s management team’s success in producing profitable operating results.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Accurately complete the month-end financial close and forecast preparationPrepare monthly communications that summarize plant performanceMeasure and record business transactions including General Ledger, A/P, Payroll, Inventory and Fixed AssetsEnsure that all reserves, write-offs and accruals are timely and appropriatePrepare insightful variance analysisEnsuring compliance with Sarbanes Oxley, Corporate and Regulatory requirementsFacilitate internal and external audit requirements at the plant levelPrepare all capital appropriations requestsPrepare annual budgetKEY ATTRIBUTES: Ability and desire to drive profitability improvements at the plant levelAccustomed to working in a fast-paced environment, satisfying multiple customersEffective communicator, both verbally and writtenTeam playerAccuracy in all levels of workAUTHORITY LEVEL (if applicable): N/AEDUCATION: Required: Bachelors Degree (Accounting or Finance)EXPERIENCE: Required: 5+ years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment as a ControllerSKILLS: Required: Experience with Microsoft Office and Enterprise Business SoftwarePreferred: Oracle E-Business Suite experienceLIMITATIONS & DISCLAIMER: The above job description is meant to describe the general nature and level of work being performed; it is not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required for the position.Silgan will provide reasonable accommodation for qualified applicants and employees with disabilities unless doing so would cause undue hardship.This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the associate occupying this position.
