Job Description : Our client, a growing government contractor, seeks a Senior Accountant to join their team. Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accountant will support the day-to-day activities of the accounting department functions. The ideal Senior Accountant candidate will be detail-oriented and have a thorough knowledge of GAAP.

Senior Accountant Responsibilities:
Lead payroll and related activities
Prepare, submit and review monthly billings
Assist with the day-to-day, monthly and year end operations of the Accounting Department
Support month-end close
Support Project Managers, Division, and Department leads in providing informative financial data
Support with forecasting (monthly/quarterly/annually as requested)
Assist in creating and updating Project, task, employees, and GL accounts in Unanet
Senior Accountant Education and Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting
Minimum of 8 years Accounting experience with 4 years in government contracting environment
Strong knowledge of Payroll procedures and related laws
High level of attention to detail and accuracy
Highly organized with ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
CPA preferred
