Job Description : JOB DESCRIPTIONTitle: Senior AccountantReports to: PresidentGENERAL DESCRIPTIONSeahawk Capital, a South Ogden-based investment firm is seeking an experienced accountant. The primary responsibility of this role will be accounting/bookkeeping activities for several owned companies but may include assisting in evaluating investment opportunities. The primary accounting responsibilities include managing accounts receivable and payable, processing receipts and disbursing payments, preparing and analyzing monthly and quarterly financial statements. This role will interface with and assist external tax preparers in the timely completion of tax returns. The successful person may be called upon by the clients to provide financial management advice, investment analysis, and/or special projects.SPECIFIC DUTIESIssue checks and ACH/wire transfers for paymentsRecord revenue and arrange deposits as necessaryReconcile monthly bank and investment statementsPrepare quarterly journal entriesProvide quarterly reports to the ownersInterface with investment and asset managers and their financial teams to resolve issuesReconcile W-2, 1099, and K-1 reports received to internal financial statementsProvide year-end reports and supporting documentation to external tax preparersMaintain files and recordsOther duties and projects as assignedQUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTESAccounting degree and 5+ years of experience or equal accounting experience; familiarity with income taxes preferredDemonstrable proficiency with QuickBooksStrong Excel skillsAbility to work independently while being a good team member to other staffAttention to detailExceptional client service mindset and skillsMust maintain confidentialityGood problem-solving skillsCOMPENSATIONCompensation is commensurate with experience and a generous benefit program is provided.Equal Opportunity EmployerCandidates must successfully complete a background and credit check prior to hiring.Job Type: Full-timeBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceDisability insuranceFlexible scheduleHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:Monday to FridayWork Location: One location
