Job Description : The Senior Accountant is a key member in supporting Best Buy’s invested commitment to health technology. This role will have the opportunity to work closely with various controllership and other teams amongst the organization to design, develop, and implement processes and controls to improve the accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency of the accounting department’s policies and procedures. Additionally, this role will have regular recurring daily accounting tasks, including month-end close processes, and other projects and assignments as assigned by their supervisor. This position requires a commitment to quality, professionalism, strong work ethic, ability to multi-task and prioritize.
Key responsibilities for this position include:
Coordinate and support month-end close process including preparing and recording journal entries.Create, implement, and perform monthly review and analytical procedures that result in meaningful variance commentary.Prepare monthly account reconciliations with clearly documented reconciling items.Support complex accounting transactions, internal control processes, audit findings and key accounting determinations.Drive process improvements and provide ad-hoc analysis and reporting as needed.

Basic Qualifications:
1.5+ years of work experience in an accounting or finance capacityIntermediate Proficiency in ERP systems and Excel
Preferred Qualifications:
BS/BA degree in Accounting or Finance3+ years of work experience in a related Accounting capacityExperience applying US GAAP to complex, and judgmental large company situationsStrong communication skills (written, verbal, presentation and facilitation)Experience with system integrations and/or implementationsExperience with project management or influencing without authorityDemonstrated ability to think critically and strategically and work with business partnersCPA preferred
