Overview
We are looking for a Senior Accountant in fill an opening immediately in Wellsboro, PA. The qualified Senior Accountant will oversee general accounting operations including reconciling general ledger account balances and preparing month-end close procedures. This position will supervise other staff within the accounting department.
Responsibilities
1. Prepares or assists in preparation of monthly and quarterly branch and department actual vs budget comparisons.
2. Leads team through training, coaching, mentoring and serving as a role model for staff.
3. Reviews daily and monthly account reconciliations including loan and deposit core system to GL reconciliations, inter-office, unfunded loan advance and other clearing accounts.
4. Prepares or assists in the preparation of various quarterly and annual loan-related schedules for regulatory reporting.
5. Reviews monthly fixed asset accounting for accuracy.
6. Acts as a resource for CFO and Controller, as needed, and coordinates activities with CFO and Controller.
7. Responsible for updating and keeping the Accounting Manual current and maintaining SOX compliance for internal and external audits.
8. May lead, instruct and supervise applicable accounting department employees in their performance, duties and responsibilities.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) or equivalent from a four-year college or university in Business or equivalent in a directly related field. CPA or CPA-eligible candidate preferred.
Experience: 4-6 years of public accounting or other related experience and/or training
or
equivalent combination of education and experience.
