What is the Senior Accountant – Financial Reporting group responsible for?
The Senior Accountant of Financial Reporting has overall responsibility for preparation of various sections for SEC filings, including Forms 10-Q, 10-K, earnings press releases filed on Form 8-K, and Forms 11-K for 401(k) Plan and ESIP as well as development and maintenance of templates for working papers supporting financial statement disclosures.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of an Senior Accountant?
Operational Responsibilities include some or all of the following:
Prepare sections of the quarterly SEC Forms 10-Q and annual Form 10-K in accordance with US GAAP and SEC requirements.
Prepare earnings press releases filed on Form 8-K and related materials for Analysts’ call.
Prepare Forms 11-K for 401(k) Plan and ESIP.
Assist in the development and maintenance of templates for working papers supporting financial statement disclosures.
Assist in completion of XBRL tagging.
Update the request list for the preparation of SEC filings.
Participate in benchmarking projects on quarterly and annual SEC filings
Liaise with other finance departments, including consolidations, corporate accounting, corporate treasury accounting and global accounting policy, to obtain information for reporting purposes.
Monitor SOX compliance for financial reporting activities
Periodic Responsibilities:
Collaborate with other groups and/or departments to assess the reporting implications of changes in US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements, coordinate changes with other groups and/or departments, and extract the necessary information for financial reporting.
Lead and participate in departmental projects as required.
Coordinate preparation of the quarterly global impairment analysis for goodwill, intangibles and other assets.
Assist in review of financial statements of various subsidiaries globally, in accordance with the local GAAP and Company’s guidance
Other Responsibilities:
Participate in the development of the Company’s reporting policies and procedures, and their continuous improvement process.
Participate in cross functional projects and assist other functions with financial reporting and disclosure matters
What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be Successful?
Bachelor degree in accounting or finance with coursework in intermediate and advanced accounting
Charted Accountant or equivalent required
Proficiency in Excel and Word required
3 – 5 years of financial accounting experience required
2-3 years of public accounting experience, is preferred
Experience with automated financial systems, including the general ledger, is preferred
Experience in the investment management and/or banking industries preferred
Exposure to consolidations, currency translation and international accounting and reporting issues
Strong oral/written communications skills
Strong organizational skills combined with good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical personnel
Ability to work with strict deadlines and timelines
Ability to solve routine department problems or issues with little direction
Ability to identify and evaluate issues quickly and independently to recommend solutions to appropriate supervisors

Job Level: Individual Contributor
Shift Work Timings – 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM IST
