Job Description : Senior AccountantJ.R. Hobbs is a leading mechanical contractor providing design, project manage and install to specification HVAC systems in the multi-family residential new construction industry. We have 100+ active new construction building projects in nine different states throughout the Southeast. For over 50 years, Hobbs has been a leader in the construction and mechanical services industry.SUMMARYThe senior accountant prepares accounting information to assist in producing financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles applied to construction and HVAC mechanical services rendered.Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related disciplineExperience: 3+ years of experienceConstruction and/or HVAC experience preferredComputer Skills: Microsoft Office requiredSage 300 preferredCertifications/Licenses: CPA license is preferred, but not requiredAccounting designation (CMA, CGA, or CA)Responsibilities:Responsible for month end closing process and preparation of financial statements for controller review.Reconcile all asset and liability accounts to the general ledger.Complete monthly bank reconciliations and various treasury functions, including monitoring daily cash, creating wires, and uploading positive pay items.Prepare, review and file monthly Sales/use tax for all applicable states.Complete monthly credit card reconciliations.Ensure quality control over construction financial transactions and financial reportsGuides financial decisions by monitoring and enforcing policies and procedures.Protects assets by monitoring and enforcing internal controls.Assist in preparation of audit work papers for yearend auditors.Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data related to construction projects.Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation affecting the construction industry; anticipating future construction-related legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions.Other corporate accounting duties as assigned.Other Requirements: Strong interpersonal and communication skillsImpeccable analytical and organizational skillsAbility to work closely with senior management teamJob Type: Full-timePay: From $70,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceDisability insuranceEmployee assistance programFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offTuition reimbursementVision insurancePhysical Setting:OfficeSchedule:Day shiftMonday to FridaySupplemental Pay:Bonus payAbility to commute/relocate:Lawrenceville, GA 30043: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)Application Question(s):What are you targeting as far as salary is concerned?Education:Bachelor’s (Preferred)Experience:Accounting: 3 years (Preferred)Construction: 3 years (Preferred)General ledger accounting: 3 years (Preferred)Sage: 1 year (Preferred)License/Certification:CPA (Preferred)Certified Management Accountant (Preferred)Work Location: One location
