Job Description : The Senior Accountant prepares the financial statements for NFIB/Affiliates and assists the Finance & Accounting Department and management staff with the timely preparation of financial statements, annual budgets and audits using knowledge of GAAP and accounting processes and procedures. The Senior Staff Accountant provides technical support for GAAP related updates and changes. The Senior Staff Accountant provides support for Finance management and team as needed.Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; work outcomes must meet and / or exceed productivity and quality standards. Must be professional, detail oriented and possess strong organizational skills. Must also be able to work as part of a cooperative team environment, including regular and predictable attendance. Must adhere to Company and Department policies and procedures. Performs other projects as needed.Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in accounting is required.Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in general accounting, including financial statement reporting, computer applications, account reconciliation and internal controls.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including a solid knowledge of Excel.Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) required.Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills required.Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, managers and external personnel, proven team leader.Equal Opportunity EmployerJob Type: Full-time
