Job Description : We are looking for a detail-oriented senior accountant to perform and coordinate accounting duties within our organization and for our clients. The senior accountant’s responsibilities include preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, assisting with audit preparations, and performing other accounting duties as assigned.SMB Accounting and Consulting is a small CPA firm specializing in federal government contract accounting and controller/CFO support. We have a dynamic clientele and vast variety of work. We offer paid time off, flexible schedules, and group health insurance.To be successful as a senior accountant, you should have a solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and strong financial analysis skills. An outstanding senior accountant should also possess strong Excel skills, be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work with little to no supervision and perform under pressure.Preparing financial statementsMonthly closeout of booksAssessing internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areasPerforming monthly balance sheet, income statement and changes in financial position/budget variance analysesAssisting in the design and preparation of budgets for review by managementMaintaining and reconciling fixed assets schedulesSupervising accounting staffPreparing revenue projections and forecasting expenditures.Assisting in the design and preparation and monitoring of budgets for review by managementMaintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts.Assisting with annual audit preparations.Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.Contributing to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.Performing other accounting duties and supporting junior staff as required or assigned.Processing payroll and reconciling payroll taxesSenior Accountant Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.3+ years of senior accounting experience.Working knowledge of GAAP.Strong financial analysis skills.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.Strong organizational and stress management skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel.Ability to train and manage staff.Ability to work with little to no supervision.Job Type: Full-timePay: $65,000.00 – $85,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)Flexible scheduleHealth insurancePaid time offPhysical Setting:OfficeSchedule:Monday to FridayAbility to commute/relocate:Melbourne, FL 32935: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)Education:Bachelor’s (Required)Experience:senior accountant: 3 years (Required)Work Location: One location
