ThriftBooks has an opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join our team in Tukwila, Washington. The Senior Accountant’s primary responsibility is to support the Controller and the Assistant Controller in the timely and accurate closing of monthly accounting records.
Responsibilities
Assist with month and year-end accounting close, including preparation of assigned journal entries and reconciliations
Maintain fixed asset schedules and prepare related journal entries and reconciliations, and assist in related system conversion project
Assist with monthly financial statements process including preparation and review of support schedules and variance analyses
Review payroll for multi-state processing centers on a bi-weekly basis
Prepare annual personal property tax filings
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial audit requests
Future opportunity to mentor accounts receivable and accounts payable teams on day-to-day processes, as assigned
Other tasks or duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university
7-10 years of public and private accounting experience
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CPA candidacy preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of technical accounting procedures, month end closing, journal entries, and account reconciliations
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
Proficiency with queries, including the use of Microsoft SQL Server preferred
Proficiency with Sage Intacct (or similar accounting software) and Paycom (or similar payroll software)
Competencies
Flexible and able to multi-task; working within a rapid and unpredictable growth environment with strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to prioritize workload and act as primary owner of individual project, analysis, or processes
Excellent analytical skills to effectively evaluate data, identify variances, and resolve discrepancies
Ability to consistently meet deadlines while producing high quality work with a strong attention to detail
