Job Description : Senior Accountant – Tutor Electrical Service, Inc.Mansfield, TexasTutor Electrical Service, Inc., is seeking a strong Senior Accountant for their successful business in Mansfield, TX. Our reputation is strong and welcome a qualified Senior Accountant to join our team.This position is the lead role in the Accounting Department and will report directly to the Company President and/or Chief Operating Officer. It is a highly visible, full-time, salaried position and considered an essential element of the executive management team. The Senior Accountant will have regular opportunities for strategic collaboration with the executive management team, and will be responsible for routine bookkeeping activities such as A/P, A/R, financial reporting, bank reconciliations, and all other aspects of the Accounting Department. Additionally, the Senior Accountant maintains reciprocal relationships with the Human Resources/Payroll Manager, the Office Manager, and all other division managers.Summary of Duties/Responsibilities: Oversees the production of monthly, quarterly, and custom financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).Produces the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.Acts as an ambassador for the company to build positive relationships with vendors, customers, and employees.Responsible for all daily and weekly accounting activities including A/P, A/R, bank reconciliations, cash management, vendor management and payment terms, and payroll reconciliation and distribution.Posts journal entries as needed.Maintains all bank accounts and bank relationships as directed by the Company President or its representative.Works with and advises department heads and other corporate stakeholders to maintain accuracy in cost tracking, revenue collecting, forecasting, and reporting.Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual review.Files monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as required for Federal and Sales taxes.Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.Required Skills/Abilities: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Business Administration required5+ years or more of accounting experience required (senior-level preferred)2+ years of construction accounting experience preferredMust understand the principles of accounting and how to accurately record transactions.Possess highly efficient organizational, time management, and supervisory skills.Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficient in accounting software, preferably Computer Ease, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point).We are seeking an individual who is detail-oriented, performance driven, and committed to the highest degree of quality and accuracy. This person will possess a “team mentality” and the ability to collaborate and support the efforts of the executive management team.
