Support Credit Risk Operations and support the Hitachi Energy Global Credit Manager in the mission to pro-actively manage the largest company-wide credit exposures, evaluating risks and taking decisions to support the business lines and country credit risk community to achieve their objectives while avoiding loss of revenue because of credit-risk related issues.
Your responsibilities
Contribute towards general credit policy and taking actions to ensure adherence to accepted standards.
Contribute to development, maintenance and upgrade Hitachi Energy Global Credit’s tools (e.g. financial screeners, templates, dashboards, processes, ‘early warning systems’ for third party credit risks & country risks).
Support optimization practices to gain efficiencies and deliver high quality services. Provide stewardship to the country credit managers on credit risk-related matters, training and guidelines as deemed appropriate and as required.
Contribute to Hitachi Energy Global Credit analysis of credit risk on potential major deals in pre-bid process.
Propose credit limits and support business units on credit decisions for key counterparties and others upon request. Contribute to Hitachi Energy Global Credit annual review process for key customers and other counterparties as defined/shared across the team. Conduct research, provide analysis and documenting initial recommendations for credit decisions for large customers and projects.
Support Hitachi Energy Global Credit in performing or reviewing analyses done by country credit managers or local controllers, including part of credit applications received for projects. Authorizing credit limits within own assigned limits.
Support good corporate governance in the area of accountability in the Region/Country, manage implementation of Hitachi Energy Credit Policy and on-going training, and assists in investigation and resolution of any resulting issues that arise.
Prepare material for presentations (e.g. Hitachi Energy Global Credit Committee; Hitachi Energy CFO), data analytics and statistics and maintain internal communications platforms. Contribute to country risk analysis as directed from time-to-time.
Support in monitoring key performance indicators such as credit exposures, limits, past dues and potential bad debt. Support country credit committees and business lines and functions on credit-risk related matters including limited travel to respective countries.
Maintain frequent communication with sales function and engage with business lines on a regular basis. Identify capacity for Hitachi Energy sales and sales growth based on financial status and disclosed planned capital expenditures.
Support in settlement of significant delinquent accounts when established parameters are not met. Support the handling of significant accounts involved bankruptcy or impacted by significant legal proceedings.
Your background
Professional degrees such as C.A. (Chartered Accountant) and/or I.C.W.A (Institute of Cost and Works Accountants) and/or Post-graduate degree in Business Administration with major in Finance from a reputed business school / university.
Minimum 4-8 years of relevant experience in credit risk analysis of corporates and financial companies, business / financial analysis, management reporting with a medium to large corporate or bank (preferred international company or bank) or rating agency.
At least 3 years of experience in implementing, managing, monitoring and reporting for large global processes and projects (including control over financial reporting).
Sound knowledge and enjoying risk analysis of countries industries (includes changes in regulatory frameworks) and relevant impact on companies – financial counterparties and inherent complexity and dynamics.
