The Opportunity
We’re hiring for a Fund Accountant to sit in our Jericho, NY office. Responsibilities include and are not limited to the following:
Responsibilities:
Managing Hedge Funds and Funds of Funds accounts for the department
Accountable for all fund activities of designated accounts from fund inception to closure
Advise faculty on agency policies and guidelines
Manage purchasing transactions
Maintain good working relationships with all client contacts, including investment professionals, investors, audit lawyers, and banking personnel
Reviewing quarterly and annual financial work paper packages, including portfolio schedules, accruals and partner capital allocations
Reviewing quarterly and annual financial statements and footnotes, and coordinating annual audits
Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, taxes, and other financial reports
Develop and analyze reporting for business operations and budgets
Perform audits, ensuring adherence to standard requirements
Create new processes to improve financial efficiency
Report analysis and findings to management team
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
Experience working with Hedge Funds and/or Funds of Funds for 3+ years
Excellent administrative and organizational skills
Verbal and written communication skills
Candidates must demonstrate initiative to be able to perform well under pressure and simultaneously handle multiple assignment
Previous experience in accounting or other related fields
Fundamental knowledge of GAAP
Experience with current computer accounting programs and reporting tools
Detail and deadline-oriented
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
