Job Description : Newpark’s Internal Audit Department (IA) is an independent, objective assurance and consulting activity designed to add value and improve the organization’s operations. Department personnel (auditors) assist our company in accomplishing its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes. The audit team provides insight and recommendations based on analyses and assessments of data and business processes. In addition, IA provides value to the audit committee and senior management as an objective source of independent advice. The Senior Auditor receives guidance from the Director of Internal Audit and collaborates with other IA team members. Auditors perform testing focused on controls in operating activities, financial mechanisms, information systems and/or compliance processes. The results of testing are documented and provided to management for their consideration to strengthen the business and control environment.Position SummaryPlans, organizes and performs various audits worldwide, including financial/ operational or information systems audits, within cost and time budgets. Develops accurate and complete audit work papers that adequately support audit findings and documents work performed. Timely prepares audit points summarizing findings and recommendations and discusses them with those being audited. . Performs internal control testing and documentation in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and GAAP requirements. Timely prepares draft audit reports for Supervisor/Manager review and Director/IT Manager issuance to division management. Reviews and ensures that audit findings are representative and work papers comprehensive and fully supported. Develops cost effective solutions to control weaknesses or inefficiencies noted. Coaches and trains auditors on an as-needed basis. Participates on special projects and investigations on an as-needed basis. Handles special projects, as assigned.Essential Job FunctionsPerform all phases of audit project activities, including planning, fieldwork and reportingExecute testing of management’s internal controlsEvaluate the effectiveness and compliance of the company policies and proceduresIdentify process efficiencies and drive positive change in alignment with the company goalsEvaluate risk, driving to root cause and determining related impact to the companyMake practical recommendations to strengthen controls and for process improvementPartner on audit engagements with company management while striving to reduce the level of effort and external audit duplicationDocument work product according to IIA and ISACA standardsAbility to travel for audits as needed, approximately 25% to 40% of the timeEducation & Experience RequirementsBachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, Computer Science or educational equivalent.2 years experience in internal or external auditing, and/or relevant experience.Strong knowledge of financial/IT audit procedures, including planning, techniques, tests and sampling methods required. Advanced PC skills, including Word and Excel. Strong technical, analytical and decision making skills.Self-motivated.Able to work independently.Good interpersonal skills.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Able to interact with all levels of management.Commitment to customer service and ability to work in team-oriented environment.
