Who we are looking for
The State Street Data Transport team supports multiple file transfer products across the business in conjunction with the daily operations team. The successful candidate will provide technical engineering support to the operations and service delivery teams that support these products. The position requires effective communication and technical skills with a willingness to learn home grown file transfer technologies. The candidate will work on engineering and support initiatives with their peers in a team setting to support the operations of file transport services.
What you will be responsible for
As Senior Data Transport Engineer you will
Work on Automation and API Connectivity Technologies
WebSocket and App Listening Protocols
Assist with the design, development, implementation and documentation to deliver automation-based solutions for the Data Transport Infrastructure.
In a team setting, work to migrate to best of breed tools and solutions in the Data Transport space.
Work on compliance efforts with their peers to strengthen controls on Data Transport products.
Understand Risks and Compliance for Data Transport and assist in Audit Remediation.
Work with Global Stakeholder and understand, design & engineer solutions.
Work with Client Relationship Managers, work on various projects related to Data Transport and come up with solutions for different clients.
Should be able to manage multi-vendor products and platforms and manage POCs.
Train junior engineers in the team with latest technology stack.

Strong programming skills in Python and Java
Strong Automation skillset
Strong Full Stack Development skills
Basic knowledge in file transfer server technologies ( Axway Secure Transport , Primeur Spazio/Data One Next (a plus ), IBM Sterling Connect Direct (NDM), Broadcom PGP, strong knowledge of file transfer protocols (FTP, FTPS, SFTP, HTTPS).
Strong knowledge of SSL and SSH security, protocols and key management .
Basic knowledge in file sharing including Samba .
Willingness to learn home grown file transfer technologies .
Strong knowledge and hands on experience with Shell Scripting, Python Programming, Ansible Core/Tower and Terraform, Cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP).
Initiate and manage vulnerability remediation, patching, upgrades and hardware life cycle to ensure we remain current with technology solutions and meet client needs.
Ability to work in a team setting with a diverse group: operations technical support resources, SSC client services representatives, application and service delivery teams and clients.
The successful candidate will provide technical support of core data transport products including software life cycles, audit compliance/remediation efforts, vulnerability control, patch management.
Must participate in service improvement/resiliency initiatives and key projects.
Education & Preferred Qualifications
Experience of 14 to 16 years in Strong Development skills
Strong Python & Java Programming skills
Love of writing code/programming
Computer science degree preferred
Strong understanding API Connectors for Web
Strong skills in Ansible Core (YAML Coding) and Terraform (HCL Coding)
Strong Frontend Coding/Rest API
Experience with high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions for middleware or other platforms
Additional requirements
This is a “hands on keyboard” engineering position
Occasional weekend work may be required for Prod deployments/changes
Our engineers will need to create new docs and SOPs for use by our support team and perform some cross training of the support team members
