With a team of engineers spread across the Upper-Midwest, we offer unrivaled responsiveness and a wealth of application expertise.Job Summary: Our company is currently seeking an experienced Accountant, with invoicing knowledge, to join our team. Reporting to the Controller, this position will be responsible for customer invoicing, commissions, day to day accounting activities and assisting with monthly close.Job Duties: Create customer project invoices, verify costs, determine sales tax and allocate commissionsProcess commission reportsCode and enter accounts payablePost customer receipts, resolve discrepancies and contact past due accountsPrepare general ledger entries by maintaining records and files, reconciling accountsProcess expense reportsReview income and expense accounts for proper classification.Prepare and file sales tax returns.Assist with preparation of month-end financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledgerAnswer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting dataProtect confidential informationThe ideal candidate should possess: 2-year degree or more preferredExperience in invoicing customers, verifying costs and determining sales tax statusMinimum three years accounting experience, preferably in a distribution environmentGeneral understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Knowledge of sales and use taxPrevious experience with ERP systemsDetail orientedExcellent organization and analytical skillsStrong work ethicProficient in use of Microsoft Office products, with advanced Excel skills required.Able to multi-task and effectively prioritize to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentStrong written and oral communication skillsPositive personality and a willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationshipsThis is a great opportunity for someone with experience and strong accounting skills to join a small, high-growth, 60-year-old business with a fun work environment.Miller Mechanical Specialties, Inc. offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.Miller Mechanical Specialties, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity in our workforce.Job Type: Full-timePay: $55,000.00 – $75,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftMonday to FridayEducation:Associate (Preferred)Experience:Accounting/Bookkeeping: 3 years (Preferred)Sales Tax: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location: One location
