Job Description : Position type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

The Staff Accountant will perform complex professional accounting and financial work for the Landfill and Service Authority, as assigned, with minimal supervision. This position will serve as a backup to the Accounting Supervisor, as necessary, in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the department and ensuring compliance with purchasing and accounting procedures. Assist in accounting duties that may require researching accounting issues and bank or account reconciliations and analysis. Experience in governmental or fund accounting, procurement and purchasing preferred. A detailed job description is available for review.

Senior Staff Accountant must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in business, accounting, or equivalent coursework, training and professional experience. Prefer some experience in governmental or fund accounting.
Staff Accountant must possess an Associate’s Degree or equivalent college-level coursework, with a minimum of (2) years of experience in general accounting.
