Job Description : Hi, we’re Oscar. We’re hiring a Senior Tax Analyst to join our Finance.

About the role:

The Senior Tax Analyst will focus on income tax compliance including tax provision and assisting with federal, state and local tax return preparation. You will also support tax planning and projects.

You will report to the Director of Tax. This is a remote / work-from-home role. You must reside in one of the following states: Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, or Washington. Note, this list of states is subject to change. #LI-Remote

Responsibilities:

Help prepare the annual and quarterly tax provision.
Help prepare U.S. federal, state, and local tax returns and estimates and payments for the corporate holding company and insurance subsidiaries.
Prepare monthly tax journal entries and reconciliations.
Help with sales and use, and other indirect tax compliance functions.
Work with areas of Finance and the business to support other tax compliance and planning projects.
Develop knowledge of our enterprise-wide financial accounting and reporting systems.

Requirements:

3+ years of tax experience in a public accounting firm or equivalent experience in a corporate tax department
Bachelor’s degree preferably in Accounting or 4 years commensurate experience

Bonus points:

CPA or Master’s of Taxation
Experience with preparation of the corporate tax provision
Excel skills (can maintain complex spreadsheets)
Insurance experience
Experience with SSAP 101 reporting
Experience implementing tax provision software
