The Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) helps deliver the quality and performance of multi-platform software products that includes; web, API and mobile application interfaces. This role focuses on contributing to the development of automated Functional Integration tests and end-to-end tests through open source test frameworks for overall system testing within an Agile environment. Participate in building up the consulting practice for performance and scalability engineering.

Responsibilities / Duties:

Building robust, scalable, and high-quality test automation solutions for functional, regression, API and performance testing
Design and Develop Automation framework from scratch for mobile app, API and web.
Building, customizing, deploying, and managing the environment/ test automation frameworks
Checking for product scalability, reliability, consistency, and performance
Ability to run multiple Appium and Selenium tests in parallel
Performing high-class debugging of the issues identified in the daily suite
Create a comprehensive testing strategy by leveraging advanced testing methodologies, DevOps practices and innovative solutions
Leading a small Test team by managing work load, assigning tasks to lower level engineering personnel, and providing them with technical support.
Researching test tools, methodologies, and trends and upgrading existing practices and processes
Works productively and with minimal management supervision while showing excellent team attitude.
Implement CI/CD process leveraging solutions like Jenkins/uDeploy

Skills required:

5+ Years of Experience
Ability to optimize regression testing time by leveraging Selenium Grids and Containers.
Ability to support the development team by writing unit test cases
Good understanding of Java/Python programming language – candidate should be able to develop backend test framework in Java.
Strong in UNIX, scripting knowledge (shell/perl/python), SQL, and database concepts.
Understanding of Test Driven Development (TDD) and Behaviour Driven Development (BDD)
Experience using CI/CD systems such as Jenkins or Bamboo
Performance testing experience using tools like JMeter, Neoload, New Relic, AppDynamics, Dynatrace is a plus
Excellent knowledge of the TCP/HTTP protocol suite, bonus points for experience with socket programming
Experience generating test reports from both tools and manually
Good knowledge of Linux systems and experience with at least one common endpoint platform (OS/X, Windows, iOS, Android)
Experience working with virtualization and containers (Docker or similar)

Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams and management to collect requirements, identify tasks, provide estimates and meet commitments
