It would result in moving from complex, customized process solutions & processes which is expensive, unstable, cannot be adapted quickly to innovation and has thousands of custom elements. Market standard ServiceNow will bring along simpler market standard processes, controls and tools. It would enable new capabilities within days and will be more agile and scalable.
You will also be part of a growing Agile DevOps team for ServiceNow, a team who is responsible for the development and support of the ServiceNow landscape and will also be the technical expert for the applications/modules in ServiceNow under your care.
What’s the role?
As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the delivery of software, which may include new development, configuration, maintenance and installation of third-party packages, and software integration efforts. It may include tasks from every part of the software development lifecycle, including software and website design, development, programming, and software deployment (both the installation and decommissioning of software).
Moreover, you are expected to have a strong software engineering skill who is knowledgeable with scripting techniques and software development/delivery methods such as SDLC, CI/CD. You are also expected to be pro-active and independent in the projects that you’ll be working on.
Your further responsibilities include:
Working across (any of) ServiceNow modules like: SecOps/GRC, ITSM, ITBM, ITOM and LSD.
Fix bugs and errors as an Ops Engineer.
Functioning as a Dev Engineer to deliver solutions for enhancements to be delivered in a sprint.
Participation in larger projects as a developer to support initial implementation of new ServiceNow features.
Partaking in DevOps initiatives to maintain ServiceNow platform versions (ie. release upgrades).
Knowledge in transition from external implementation partners for new modules.
Keep technical expertise up to date.
REQUIREMENTS
What we need from you
We’re keen to hear from professionals who have 4-7 years of hands-on experience in Software Engineering particularly in ServiceNow administration, scripting, development and integration to support the ServiceNow LSD module and other associated IT solution(s). Your development experience in ServiceNow ITSM, ITBM, GRC/SecOps and ITOM is also highly advantageous.
Further requirements are as follows:
A Bachelor’s Degree in any IT-related courses.
Certifications in either Application Development or System Administration.
In-depth experience in working with Agile/Scrum delivery teams/DevOps.
Familiarity in HTML5/CSS/AJAX/.Net/Java/Webservices/GlideRecord.
Knowledge in Client Side and Server Side Scripting/Client & Server API’s/SaaS integration services.
Skilled in ACL & debugging.
Awareness of COTS (Commercial Off The Shelf Software) .
Understanding in (1) development and continuous delivery fundamentals, (2) software development processes and procedures, and (3) incremental delivery and use metrics to track progress against the intended timeline.
Ability to challenge and debate issues of importance to the organization
Aside from the attributes above, we’d like to hear from individuals who are self-starter and able to handle concurrent tasks with appropriate priority. Also entailing good interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style, both face-to-face and virtually. Excellent English communication skills in both verbal and written are also a must.
