Job Description : Prepare advanced journal entries, detailed reports, analyze account reconciliations and close the books and records for Dart Container and affiliates
Day to Day Roles for Accountant and Sr Accountant
Accurately prepare and post journal entries
Prepare account reconciliations and supporting schedules
Assist in the timely month-end and year-end close of the general ledger and related external audits
Support month-end financial reporting including following up on variances, data analysis, and account review
Create accurate and concise verbal and written communications to internal departments and external business partners about accounting-related information
Maintain secure control of accounting-related documentation; invoices, checks, journal entries, financial statements
Participate in special projects individually or as part of a cross-functional team
Maintain accurate job aids for all duties assigned
Day to Day Roles for Sr Accountant
Assist in the preparation of month-end and year-end financial reporting package to management and external business partners. This includes report preparation, following up on variances, data analysis and account review.
Understand how the other functional areas (including Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Human Capital Management, and Supply Chain Management) impact Finance in the current ERP system
Core Skills and Qualifications for Accountant and Sr Accountant
Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Accounting or related field of study
Two (2) years of accounting experience
Microsoft Excel skills to include the ability to create spreadsheets (e.g., formulas such as V-lookup, graphs, pivot tables)
Excellent verbal and written skills necessary in order to communicate intricate job-related processes to internal customers
Proven analytical problem solver
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to utilize business sense and creativity to develop new ideas and solutions
Organizational skills including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines
Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision
Works well in a team environment, working towards the common goal of the department as a whole
Core Skills and Qualifications for Sr Accountant
Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Accounting or related field of study
Four (4) years of accounting experience with a focus in manufacturing industry accounting
Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment
Requires one of the following:
CPA license, OR
Five (5) years of progressive Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (“GAAP”) accounting experience with a focus in manufacturing
Preferred Skills and Qualifications for Accountant and Sr Accountant
SAP experience
CPA license
