Job Description : Johnson Service Group is seeking an experienced Sr. Accountant for our client in North Charleston, SC. Reporting to the Comptroller, the incumbent will be responsible for preparing financial statements, maintaining and reporting federal funding, auditing projects and other accounting projects as needed.
Responsibilities:
Processes and posts journal entries for routine transactions in the Microsoft Dynamics system and ensures accuracy of the General Ledger.
Prepares supporting schedules for specific general ledger accounts. Analyzes and reconciles specified balance sheet accounts monthly
Maintain the fixed asset register and calculate depreciation; prepare financial reports summarizing fixed asset activity
Perform financial analysis as appropriate to support risk assessment and inform decision making; analyzes revenue and expenses for anomalies in financial reports and prepares dashboard summary of activities; processes net position, and statistical data; and prepares quarterly reports for non-operating revenue sources
Assists with the calculation of rates and charges based on budgetary guidelines and issues appropriate debits and credits; and posts accruals and journal entries based on GL account analysis and reconciliations.
Support month-end and year-end financial close process to include preparation of audit schedules and financial statement reports
Assists with the annual operating and capital budget process to include preparation of revenue and forecasts; rates and charges pro-forma calculation and forecasted cash flows
Communicates with supervisor, other employees, clients, tenants, vendors, third party service contractors, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business, supplemented by five years of experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this role.
