Position Overview
The Nanotronics Sr. Accountant is an experienced team member with cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for all aspects of corporate accounting, regulatory/financial reporting, inventory cost management, and development of internal control policies and procedures. They will ensure policies and procedures are in compliance with professional standards, state and federal regulatory requirements, and US GAAP. Sr. Accountant responsibilities may include financial management for any subsidiaries.
Nanotronics is developing the world’s most technologically advanced inspection and factory control solutions. Nanotronics is making manufacturing fast, accurate and cost-efficient by combining optical and atomic force microscopy with machine learning and artificial intelligence. This position might be eligible for city and state tax exemption under the START-UP NY program.

. Requirements:

Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day transactions and all accounting operations including Billing, A/R Collections, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition (ASC 606)
Work with CFO and Director of Finance to establish, monitor, and enforce financial policies and procedures
Direct and coordinate all activities related to financial audits with external auditors
Assist with Implementation of new ERP system
Develop and Maintain inventory costing system (standard costs) for new and existing products
Coordinate cycle counts and physical inventories with operations team for all inventory locations
Work with Operations Team to maintain and improve processes and controls associated with manufacturing and inventory control, including collaborating with the Purchasing Team
Assist Director of Finance with budget and financial forecasts, while reporting and explaining variances
Oversee month-end and year-end close process, including managing journal entries and reconciling all accounts
Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
Support financial staff by coaching, counseling, and managing small team
Protect operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential
Other special projects, financial analysis, and initiatives as needed
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and US GAAP
Cost Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience with creating financial statements, general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
Proficiency with ERP System and related process flows
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Highly organized and detail-oriented
Ability to work under tight deadlines and on budget
Strong lateral thinking and problem-solving skills
Self-motivated and self-directed
Ability to work closely with a senior management team
Some travel to other company locations may be required
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (MBA helpful, but not required)
Accounting designation (CPA/CMA Required)
Experience with SAP ERP System Preferred
Five to eight years of overall combined accounting and finance experience, including public accounting
Work Environment
This position is based in the Brooklyn office. There is no remote work option.
