Job Description : Robert Half is currently looking for an efficient Senior Accountant with an eye for accuracy to be a part of a terrific long-term contract / temporary to hire opportunity in the Healthcare, Hospitals, Social Assistance industry. Working as a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for account analysis and reconciliations, financial statement preparation and consolidation, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. This Senior Accountant opening is located in the Chicago, Illinois area and will offer you great experience, strong compensation, and an attractive benefits package. Key responsibilities
Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments
Other projects as necessary
Work with internal and external auditors to coordinate quarterly reviews and testing
Bring a daily dedication to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
Create analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)
Administer monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP
Put together monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
Put together Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Function with business partners to ensure compliance with procedures and controls, corporate accounting policies, and provide support on special requests
Familiarity with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
Strong organization skills with a sense of urgency and capable of prioritizing multiple tasks
Minimum 5-7 years of overall general accounting experience
SOX internal control assessments (Section 404) experience
Demonstrated skills in interacting effectively, both verbally and in writing, with functional managers
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
Strong familiarity with grant accounting
Financial Edge experience
Accounts Payable (AP) experience
Grant accounting experience required
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are desired
ERP system experience
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
