We’re currently seeking a Fixed Asset/ General Ledger Accountant to join our team. This position will be 100%.The Fixed Asset/ General Ledger Accountant will focus on fixed asset transactions and be engaged in the month end close process and general ledger accounting internal controls compliance, fixed asset compliance, and various other reporting compliance. The main objective of this position is to ensure the accuracy and integrity of fixed assets on the financial statements.ResponsibilitiesMonth-end Close ResponsibilitiesRecord fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions in the accounting systemReconciliation of fixed asset subledger to the general ledger control accountRun depreciation for all fixed assetsAnalyze expense categories to ensure purchases are not being expensed that could be capitalizedPrepare monthly journal entries and reconciliations of general ledger accountsPrepare annual depreciation and capital spending for budgetPrepare audit or compliance schedules related to fixed assets and assist on any requests.Fixed Asset Compliance ResponsibilitiesCreate and monitor system controls, procedures and forms for recording fixed assetsVerify requests qualify as capital based on company policy and accounting rulesTrack the completion of project costs into fixed asset accountant and close out those completedWork closely with operations and other departments in tracking capital costs in comparison to budgeted costsWork with other departments to remain informed on capital projects of future spendingOtherAssist with various system development and enhancementAssist accounting department with monthly tasksDeliver various ad-hoc reports as neededProduce various schedules for external auditsThis is an exciting time at ITS and we’re seeking individuals to join our growing team!
