Job Description : Job Summary and Responsibilities: The Staff Accountant will be responsible for the timely collection and management of financial data for multiple organizations and companies to ensure they are accurate, properly maintained, and everything adds up.This position will:Post and review the numbers in QuickBooks databases,Develop and provide monthly financial packages (income statements, balance sheets and trending)Manage and report Accounts Payables and Accounts Receivable statusConsult with and assist the company source of the transaction if necessary, which includes accountants, managers or other clerks in the varying businesses.Required Competencies and Job Functions: Note: This is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, competencies, responsibilities, or qualifications associated with this job and there may be additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.Occupational CompetenciesInformation confidentiality: Knowledge of the mechanisms and regulations which allow for selective access control and guarantee that only authorized parties (people, processes, systems and devices) have access to data, the way to comply with confidential information and the risks of non-compliance.Accounting entries: Proficiency in the understanding of the financial transactions recorded in accounting systems or books of a company together with the metadata linked to the entry such as the date, the amount, the accounts affected, and a description of the transaction.Financial and Company Assistance: Assist with banking, basic bookkeeping, company filings, maintaining business records, and accounting assistance as need.Business Research: Search and collect information relevant for the development of businesses in different fields ranging from legal, accounting, finance, up to commercial matters.Clerical duties: Perform administrative tasks as necessary such as filing, typing up reports, running errands and maintaining mail correspondence.Audit techniques: Knowledge of the techniques and methods that support a systematic and independent examination of data, policies, operations and performances using computer-assisted audit tools and techniques (CAATs) such as spreadsheets, databases, statistical analysis and business intelligence software.Foundational Competencies Mathematics: Using mathematics to solve problems.Adaptability: React positively with changes and last-minute requests, adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment, champion change and growth.Active Listening: Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.Critical Thinking: Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.Reading Comprehension: Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.Speaking: Talking to others to convey information effectively.Writing: Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.Self-Starter: Ability to work independently without day-to-day directionFlexibility: Due to the nature of the businesses supported, the successful candidate must be able to adjust to rapidly changing priorities to support business needs.Preferred Competencies: Occupational CompetenciesAccounting department processes: The different processes, duties, jargon, role in an organization, and other specificities of the accounting department within an organization such as bookkeeping, invoices, recording, and taxing.Financial department processes: The different processes, duties, jargon, role in an organization, and other specificities of the financial department within an organization. Understanding of financial statements, investments, disclosing policies, etc.Financial statements: The set of financial records disclosing the financial position of a company at the end of a set period or of the accounting year.
