Job Description : Staff Accountant

Job Summary
Under moderate supervision, the Staff Accountant is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of Cullman Regional’s payroll in addition to other payroll related duties; payroll taxes and maintaining payroll related liabilities. The Staff Accountant will be involved with software maintenance, check processing and customer service for the Accounting Department. The Staff Accountant will participate in the month-end close, complete bank reconciliations, assist with annual auditing procedures, and maintain assigned balance sheet reconciliations.
Job Duties
Accounts payable processing
Journal entry preparation
Payroll tax processing and W-2 processing
Productivity Analysis
Journal entry preparation
Monthly balance sheet and expense account fluctuation analysis
Balance sheet account reconciliations and analysis
Bank Statement Reconciliation and analysis
Interfacing with various departments concerning accounting information
Performance of administrative functions as needed
Demonstrates and encourage team behavior and exceptional patient /guest experiences.
Upholds and promotes patient safety and quality

Requirements
Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Strong analytical skills and attention to details
2 years minimum of accounting experience
Chargemaster experience
Cost accounting experience
Intermediate to advanced user of Microsoft Excel and Access Databases
Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Ability to multitask and an analytical thinker
