Job Description : Staff Accountant Brief description Prepare and examine financial records, ensuring records are accurate and paid on time.Accounts Receivable Tasks Interfacing with customers for collections with follow up as necessary.Research and process credit memo requests from customers, getting appropriate approval when necessary.Maintain knowledge of product line, prices, and delivery timing as required.Follow up weekly with past due balances, raising outstanding issues to management.Keep records of customer interactions and transactions, ensuring customer records are kept up to date.Prepare and enter check and wire deposits.Accounts Payable Tasks Review AP invoices for reasonability. Asking questions when necessary.Processes and oversee expense reimbursements, including credit card statement reconciliation.Prepare approved invoices for payment.Prepares accounts payable aging report for weekly check disbursements and review check run proposal with approval from Controller.Process all accounts payable checks.Provides invoice schedule for month-end AP and Freight accrual.Responds to all vendor and employee inquiries regarding invoices, expenses, and check requests; resolves invoice discrepancies.Reviews and reconcile periodic reports to maintain current reconciliation status for payables disbursement account.Qualifications and requirements Experience with Sage/MAS is preferredBachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting or business administration with an emphasis in accounting or related field.Acute attention to detail.Commitment to excellence and high standards.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructionsVersatility, flexibility, and reliabilityCompetencies This individual must have integrity.Be reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfill obligations on time.Careful attention to detail and thoroughness in completing work tasks.Must be able to maintain composure, even in very difficult situations.3301 W.
