Job Description : Job SummaryThe Accountant – Intercompany & Consolidations is responsible for reconciliation and journal entries of complex and high-volume intercompany accounts to ensure that consolidated financial reports are complete and accurate. The incumbent will review processes to ensure solid controls are in place and also streamline where possible to gain efficiencies. As a member of the accounting team, the incumbent may be responsible for reviewing the work of others and providing work direction and guidance.Primary Job ResponsibilitiesPrepares month-end journal entries and account reconciliationsResponsible for consolidating international ledgers into USDGathers necessary information to prepare consolidated month-end entriesEnsures month end entries are accurately recorded in a timely mannerPerforms monthly balance sheet and income statement analysisDocuments processes and procedures as neededReviews journal entries and account reconciliations of othersAssists in the review of daily and monthly journal entries made by othersAssists in the review of monthly account reconciliations prepared by othersCreates quarter and year end audit schedules for external auditors as requestedCoordinates with operations, finance and/or other groups to answer audit questionsResponds to inquiries from other departmentsParticipates in projects such as system implementationsSkills and Experience Required:Educational RequirementsBS/BA in Accounting or related fieldMBA preferredSkills/Experience4-7 years of increasing accounting responsibility experiencePrevious experience in intercompany Accounting neededConsolidation experience preferredStrong background in multi-currency/FX highly preferredExcellent PC skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, requiredExperience with Quick Books or equivalent preferredKnowledge of generally accepted accounting principlesStrong analytical and problem solving skillsEffective oral and written communicationAbility to organize and manage time to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracyAbility to innovate and improve processesAbility to work independently and make judgments in order to minimize exposure or risk to the companyADA: The above statements cover what are generally believed to be principal and essential functions of the job.
