Under the direction of the Assistant Controller, the Staff Accountant will perform a wide variety of accounting assignments from journal entries to account reconciliations to final report preparation and analysis. What Will You Be Doing?
Prepare and post monthly journal entries listed on the journal entry summary sheet.
Prepare monthly financial statements.
Perform flux (variance) analysis and prepare notes for management.
Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
Complete monthly account reconciliations and analysis on all Balance Sheet accounts as well as selected income and expense accounts.
Prepare monthly Sales Tax prepayments and Quarterly Sales Tax returns and submit to Assistant Controller for payment.
Prepare annual audit schedules for external audit.
Maintain fixed asset activity on FAS fixed asset accounting system.
May perform numerous banking functions through on-line banking, including transmitting checks, requesting bank reports, processing voided checks, stop payment inquiries and cancelled check copies.
What Experience, Skills and Attributes Will You Need to Be Successful?
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge in a wide variety of software packages including strong Excel skills.
A team player.
Outstanding attention to detail, strong analytical experience, skilled in written and verbal communications.
Ability to apply GAAP principles
