Job Description : SUMMARYEstablishes processes and procedures; achieves operational objectives; develops systems; monitors revenue and expenses; maintains accounting controls; guides other departments; and complies with legal requirements.The Staff Accountant will work primarily from their home office and will require periodic onsite staff meetings.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Process month end close including journal entries.Responsible for compiling and analyzing financial data on a real-time basis.Reconcile various balance sheet asset and liability accounts.Capable of utilizing the Internet as a resource.Maintains painstaking attention to detail, completing multiple or repetitive tasks.Demonstrates a serious commitment to accuracy and quality while meeting goals or deadlines.Good at designing, implementing, and refining systems to manage complex processes and to optimize performance.Assist with monthly billing, including coordination with third party vendors for electronic billing.Coordinates banking activities and initiates wire transfers.Assist with Accounts payable.Willingness to work extended hours during company peak timesCoordinates communications, meetings, and training activities.Providing a variety of audit/support functions.Proficient with accounting software, such as Excel and QuickBooks.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: There are no supervisory responsibilities associated with this job.QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A.) from four-year college or university; OR four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.LANGUAGE SKILLS: The Staff Accountant must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. The Staff Accountant must be able to write routine reports and correspondence, and should have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: The Staff Accountant must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. The Staff Accountant must also have the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.REASONING ABILITY: The Staff Accountant must have the ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. The Staff Accountant must also have the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: The Staff Accountant needs to be able to use MS Word, MS Outlook, Excel, and should have basic computer knowledge. The Staff Accountant needs to be able to concentrate for extended periods of time. The Staff Accountant must be able to type45 to 65 WPM.PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here represent those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
